GAMRILL STATE PARK.jpeg

Gambrill State Park

Gambrill State Park is a beautiful mountain park, located on the ridge of the Catoctin Mountains in Frederick County. Its most popular feature is the 16 miles of trails for hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding.

Mt Tabor Park .jpeg

Mt. Tabor Church Park

A 40-foot tall wooden slide towers in the background of Mount Tabor Park in Rocky Ridge just waiting to be conquered like a playground version of Mount Everest. Built by volunteers more than 70 years ago, the Rocky Ridge slide is a thrilling ride for kids and adults, and the fact that it’s located in the middle of nowhere makes it all the more fun.

Frey's Brewing Co

Frey's Brewing Company is Frederick County's first operational farm brewery, located in Mount Airy, Maryland. Frey's was established in 2012 by Air Force vet, Adam Frey, and our beautiful tasting room opened in early 2019 inside a fully-renovated, 200-year-old bank barn.

FAQ's

COOLERS, CHAIRS, and POP UP TENTS

We encourage you to bring a cooler with snacks, sodas, water,  for the Creep only

Once you arrive at Fest, a variety of food trucks will be provided, so bringing in outside food, while not prohibited, is highly discouraged.

Due to the number of patrons for the event, BYO portable chairs is encouraged.

Due to space limitations, pop up tents are NOT allowed.

PETS

Pets are fine, but they must be leashed at all times and you must clean up after your animal.  It’s just gross if you don’t.

ATTIRE

At a few of the stops we encourage you to get out and explore, so be sure to wear appropriate footwear.

CASH

There will be opportunity to purchase raffle tickets, 50/50 tickets, other food, t-shirts, etc. so we encourage you to bring cash as there isn’t an ATM on site.

That being said, we do have the ability to take credit cards, Paypal or Venmo at some of the sites.  But cash is always nice.

Mission

THE MISSION

Laura Johnson and Heather Wilhelm have been working together for over 10 years to raise money for St. Jude Children's Hospital.  We both started our journey with St. Jude through Team WFRE - a group of people raising money for St Jude through the local radio station - WFRE.

Many people have asked us over the years - WHY?  Why St. Jude?  For Laura it was simple - she has three beautiful and healthy children.  She feels blessed, and she believes that she has a responsibility to help those who are not as fortunate.  The idea of having a child battling a debilitating disease and fighting for their life is unbearable.

Heather's story is similar - she also has two beautiful and healthy children.  As a middle school science teacher, though, Heather had a student (Meghan) that battled leukemia for a year.  Unfortunately, Meghan lost her battle, but not without a fight.

The mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment.

Founder and entertainer Danny Thomas opened the doors to St. Jude in 1962 with the dream that “no child should die in the dawn of life."  Unlike any other hospital, the majority of their funding comes from individual contributions. And thanks to generous donors, families never receive a bill from St. Jude.
